Sean and I went to Shabbat Services on Friday. For those of you who don't know, Shabbat or the Jewish day of rest is observed from Friday to Saturday and is intended to remind us of the value of our family and history and to commemorate God for creating the Universe. Celebrating Shabbat is always a little strange for me because I'm not very religious and don't always understand everything going on, but it makes me feel GOOD and helps me to relax after a hard week. This week, however, I had an entirely positive experience at Learner's Shabbat with a whole bunch of other people who also felt a little uncertain or uncomfortable! I'm thankful that the Jewish community is so welcoming and encouraging, and chooses to embrace the awkwardness often associated with religious ritual by holding events like this. And I saw Joe which reminded me how much I like Joe.
How many no money boyz are crazy (thanks M.I.A.)
-I went to fake prom at the exbf's frat! It was fantastic, I got to get dressed up, we went out to dinner, and there was drinks and dancing. Unfortunately for both of us, we had conflicting hopes for the afterparty.
-I also was reminded that I should probably never do anything I don't feel comfortable being honest about, and I should probably never lie. So I will do my best on that front from here on.
-And (this is the best part!) I think my boyfriend and I are staying together for the summer which is only like the most amazing thing ever because I like him lots! (I sincerely doubt he reads this, but I guess if he does he caught me. uh oh.)
Personal Goals
Spring happened. And with it came all these aspirations to return to normal weight, rollerblade daily, do sit-ups and push-ups, get a fake tan, and stop biting my nails. Some of that is going well.
And since I had a list going I added minimizing cigarette intake, doing homework, reviewing arabic, and keeping my room straight.
Wish me luck!
