Things I Am Liking

Sherman Alexie. Read South by Southwest, one of the short stories from The Toughest Indian in the world.

Toni Morrison. Sula is sitting on my shelf, just waiting for me to read it. I want to.

Charles Bukowski. See:

How Is Your Heart?

during my worst times

on the park benches

in the jails

or living with

whores

I always had this certain

contentment-

I wouldn't call it

happiness-

it was more of an inner

balance

that settled for

whatever was occuring

and it helped in the

factories

and when relationships

went wrong

with the

girls

I'm going to go to the library to get more of him.

And,

Betsy and I are supposed to have an art date. It's supposed to involve painting? I don't typically do painting- what should I try?

Rachie and I are considering embarking on some kind of kickass collaborative work. What should we create for you?

I am thinking about tattoos again- this time book related. Possible locations are my hip area, or my ankle area. Probable subject matter will be coming from especially vivid passages from GREAT BOOKS like 20,000 Leagues, Illustrated Man, Ender, Golden Compass, Alice... Send me your favorite imaginative works, and some especially imaginative paragraphs.

Love love love Sherman Alexie, and Toni Morrison. Sula is great. Probably would be better now because I read it when I was 13...

Love the Charles Bukowski poem, and many others.

Painting is fabulous! Try everything! Finger painting is the best though. I don't normally paint either, but I love it.
