Dear Imaginary Future Dream Soulmate,
I’m starting to really look forward to meeting you. Going to college has been weird for me- it suddenly seems like my relationships imply futures in a way they never did in high school. Last semester my boyfriend was telling me he could see us married down the line (I could not) and this semester I feel dissatisfied knowing ultimately, things with me and this boyfriend will not work out. It’s hard for me to enjoy what we have right now, which is excellent, while knowing the deadline, however distant. Anyways, the fact that you too are working your way towards me helps me to feel ok about these relationships being fun, special, instructive, and temporary. Thanks.
